Continuing a winter tradition of small-sized, limited variations of Crowned Heads cigars, the company has announced the Le CarĂªme Pastelitos LE 2023 cigar, which is set to begin shipping to retailers this March.
Crowned Heads has become known to release limited-edition sizes of their most popular cigars on an annual or semi-annual basis. For the Le CarĂªme line, this has historically included the Le CarĂªme Belicosos Finos format, released in 2018, 2019, 2021, and 2022.
This theme now changes for 2023, debuting the line in short 4″ x 54 size with a pigtail cap. Also, differing from core-line Le CarĂªme cigars, the Pastelitos LE 2023 is rolled in a more traditional round format.
“Since 2016, we’ve had a history of releasing limited edition short-format cigars for the cold weather months when a quick but satisfying smoke is necessary,” commented Crowned Heads co-owner/founder, Jon Huber. “Le CarĂªme Pastelitos is the latest in this line of limitadas, and they’re as rich and tasty as the pastries they take their name from.”
As Le CarĂªme is tied to the world of French cuisine (being named for Marie-Antoine CarĂªme), the Pastelitos is named for a Cuban baked puff pastry, which are typically filled with sweet or savory fillings. The cigars have been limited to 1,250 boxes of 24 cigars (30,000 cigars) for 2023. As with the core series, the cigars were rolled at Ernesto Perez-Carrillo’s Tabacalera la Alianza factory, based in the Dominican Republic. Shipping this March, Le CarĂªme Pastelitos LE 2023 is priced at $12.95 per cigar ($310.80/box).
