One of the first cigars to hint at a new branding direction from Aganorsa Leaf was the Guardian of the Farm, which first debuted in 2016 as a quasi collaboration with Warped Cigars. The cigars were named for the bulldogs of the Fernández family, which helped to patrol and guard the family’s AGANORSA tobacco farms of Nicaragua. Since this time, we’ve been introduced to a maduro followup and a host of shop-exclusive sizes, with the Guardian of the Farm Cerberus being the first true addition to the collection since 2019. The cigars follow the canine theme, being named after the multi-headed dog tasked with guarding the gates of the underworld in Greek mythology. Historically, Aganorsa has only introduced a new member of the GOTF series when the AGANORSA farms are ready to showcase a new tobacco. This is the case with the Cerberus, as the cigar marks the company’s first blend wrapped in their Nicaraguan Corojo 2012 leaf. This cigar technically debuted near the end of 2021, though it was a limited pre-launch that was rolled in an exclusive size for a single retailer. This was followed by the full-scale release in 2022, debuting the cigar in three new formats (with the 6″ × 44 lonsdale being our personal favorite). The Guardian of the Farm Cerberus is medium bodied and focused on concentrated flavor, with a nice natural sweetness and lingering flavors of must, salted nuts, cedar, and a clove-like spice.
