E.P. Carrillo Cigars announced the addition of Allegiance to their portfolio of cigars and is set to officially launch in October 2022. Allegiance is will be the first one from the Perez-Carrillo line developed outside the company’s Santiago, DR factory.

The 40,000 square-foot factory in Santiago’s Zona Franca is where all E.P. Carrillo Cigars are fermented, aged, hand-made, and packaged. However, the company is doing things differently with Allegiance by partnering with the Oliva Cigar Co. factory in Nicaragua.

“This is an ode to the deep roots we have in the industry, the friendships and the bonds we’ve made over the years, and how this extends to the E.P. Carrillo lines,” said cigarmaker Ernesto Perez-Carrillo. “Oliva Cigars consistently grows excellent tobacco, and our friendship with their team made it an easy choice to partner with them for Allegiance.”

Allegiance is rolled with a Sumatra wrapper that comes from the area of Quevedo, Ecuador, which is known for being one of the best areas for wrappers in Ecuador. Allegiance is a medium-plus bodied cigar made with Nicaraguan fillers and binders and will be released in four sizes; Robusto, Toro, Double Corona and No. 58. The different sizes will be named closer to release date, and will be packaged in a 20 count box. All of the Perez-Carrillo lines will be changing from a 10 count box to a 20 count box over the next month.

“There will be 5,000 boxes made for the U.S. and 2,500 boxes shipped internationally this year, and we will continue ordering as needed,” said Lissette Perez-Carrillo.

Allegiance will come in four sizes: Robusto, Toro, Double Corona, and No. 58. Suggested retail prices are set at $12.00, $13.10, 13.50, and $14.00, respectively.
