Crowned Heads has announced the second limited edition release under the Mil Días brand, i.e., Mil Días Escogidos El 2021. The Escogidos follows up the Mil Días Mareva EL XX which launched last October and sold out almost immediately. Mil Días Escogidos takes the original blend and crafts it into a traditional Double Corona vitola (7 1/8″ x 49). Production is limited to a total of 3,000 (10-count) boxes.
“We actually put the Escogidos into production not too long after the Mareva began shipping,” commented Crowned Heads co-founder/owner, Jon Huber. “While the vitola is a radical left turn from the Mareva XX, one of the cigars that always captivated me when I was coming up was the Hoyo de Monterrey Double Corona (CUBA), and this release is an homage to that iconic cigar. This vitola truly delivers a 2-hour-plus ride of richness and layered complexity that the Mil Dfas blend has become renowned for.”
Mil Días is a four vitola range of cigars comprised of a Nicaraguan binder, filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Peru, and Costa Rica, and finished with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The brand language is a collision of modern luxury and iconic tradition, bringing modernity to the classic cigar brand expression. The flavor profile may be described as medium-plus in body, and full in flavor, showcasing exquisite balance and complexity. The result is a profile where heritage meets. the future, blurring the lines between history and modern, Cuba and Central America. Mil Días Escogidos Edición Limitada 2021 will have a suggested retail price of $12.50 per cigar, and is manufactured at Tabacalera Pichardo in Esteli, Nicaragua, under the supervision of Don Eradio Pichardo. Mil Días Escogidos Edición Limitada 2021 will begin shipping late April.
