General Cigar Company, parent of Macanudo, has announced the Inspirado Brazilian Shade as the seventh cigar in the popular Inspirado series.
The cigars are described as limited edition, making use of unique tobaccos such as a Brazilian-grown Connecticut wrapper and a proprietary Cuban-seed filler component, said to be “the first time these tobaccos have been used with Macanudo.”
The blend consists of a diverse recipe, including the aforementioned Connecticut Shade wrapper, which was grown in the Bahia region of Brazil. This conceals a Mexican San Andrés binder and fillers of Dominican Cubita, Brazil, Dominican Piloto Cubano, and Nicaraguan Jalapa. The Dominican Cubita is a signature leaf for the blend, described as “a unique and proprietary sungrown tobacco cultivated on a one-acre plot in the bucolic region of Mao, Dominican Republic. This special tobacco lends a unique aroma and spicy notes to the smoking experience.”
The Inspirado Brazilian Shade follows the Inspirado Orange (formerly Inspirado), Inspirado Black, Inspirado White, Inspirado Red, Inspirado Green, and Inspirado Palladium cigars. The blend is being rolled out of the General Cigar Dominicana factory, arriving in two sizes (Toro, 6½” x 52 | Churchill, 7” x 48) that will retail for $10.49 and $10.99 SRP, respectively. Shipping is expected on May 4th of this year.
