Plasencia Cigars has announced the shipment of a new cigar to tobacconists, a spinoff blend known as Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I Hexagon Colorado Claro.
The cigar is based on the company’s original Alma Fuerte cigar; more specifically, the hexagonally-pressed Sixto II size within the line. This unique size—said to be a first within the premium cigar market—borrows from the honeycomb shape found throughout nature, allowing the Plasencias to fit the most area within the least perimeter.
This shape provides a more complex smoking expression due the pressing of the cigar into a hexagon shape. The new shape brought forth a new way to enjoy cigars. A smashing success, the hexagon shaped cigar became Plasencia’s number one selling cigar. The Plasencia family felt it was time create a line extension to the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Hexagon. This result is the Plasencia Alma Fuerte Sixto I Hexagon- Colorado Claro.
Alma Fuerte Sixto I Hexagon Colorado Claro uses essentially the same binder/filler found on the original Alma Fuerte, said to have been slightly tweaked to compliment the cigar’s new wrapper. This wrapper leaf is much lighter than the Jalapan shade-grown maduro of the original, setting itself apart with a Colorado claro-shade leaf that has been aged for 10 years.
Sixto I Hexagon Colorado Claro is sized at 6″ x 60, being packaged in unique boxes of 10 cigars that are hexagonal in shape. Pricing has been set at $21 MSRP per cigar.
