Long a favorite in the realm of boutique cigar offerings, Esteban Carreras Cigars has made a name for themselves with primarily medium-full to full-bodied offerings, centering on Nicaraguan tobaccos and being rolled at the company’s own Tabacalera Carreras factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. This holds true with the 2020 debut of Cashmere, though the cigar features a wrapper style rarely seen from Esteban Carreras: Connecticut.
Named for the famously soft, high-grade wool, Cashmere showcases a much darker shade of Connecticut than the conventional style. Paired with a hearty blend of Nicaraguan binder/fillers, Cashmere takes on an amped-up profile, with body and flavor taking center stage over a mild-plus nicotine strength. The smoke holds true to its name, being smooth in texture yet potent in flavor, with bright characteristics of clean cedar, dense cream, browned butter, and white chocolate.
