When time-tested skill meets modern innovation, the results are often of a higher rank. Such is the case with Joya Ninjaragua, marking the collaboration between Joya de Nicaragua (the first and oldest cigar manufacturer in Nicaragua) and Cigar Dojo (the world’s first and largest social cigar app).
Joya Ninjaragua traces its roots back more than two years, being the most meticulously worked-upon, fine-tuned collaboration that Cigar Dojo has been involved with to date. The cigars were first sampled at a Cigar Dojo-led Drew Estate Cigar Safari, where a group of roughly 15 Dojo members were offered three variations of the blend. Cigar Dojo members provided their feedback, and the most popular recipe was then tweaked for multiple iterations, slowly whittling the blend down until the ideal smoking experience emerged.
It was down in Estelí where the core essence of DE, Dojo and JDN began to meld and a new triangular alliance began to blossom, with the two former showing the way to the future of the cigar world, while JDN reaffirmed the authenticity and legacy of cigar craftsmanship.
Ninjaragua falls under Joya de Nicaragua’s contemporary JOYA series, which first debuted in 2014 with the critically acclaimed Joya Red cigar and has since expanded to include a wide range of lively smoking experiences for the modern enthusiast. The cigar is built from a hearty blend of all-Nicaraguan tobaccos, paying tribute to JDN’s beginnings. This includes a dark Nicaraguan Habano Criollo wrapper as the finishing touch. Ninjaragua was constructed by Joya’s world-famous torcedores, being rolled in a classic 6″ x 50 toro format.
Joya Ninjaragua has been crafted in an extremely limited allotment, with 450 triangular boxes being offered exclusively through online retailer Smoke Inn Cigars. Aside from being one of the most head-turning presentations within Cigar Dojo’s 20-plus collaborations, the unique packaging has deeper meaning. Each corner of the triangular shape represents the synergistic relationship of Drew Estate, Joya de Nicaragua, and Cigar Dojo.
The cigars will be sold exclusively through Smoke Inn Cigars on Dec. 4th at 12pm (EST). Pricing has been set at $53.70 MSRP per box ($8.95/cigar), with the affordable starting point intended to encourage multiple box purchases that take advantage of the triangular boxes’ unique stacking capabilities. Ninjaragua will be formally launched through an online event with Master Sensei, Abe Dababneh, and Juan Ignacio Martínez at 7pm (EST). During the event, special giveaways will be made available for customers, and a very special raffle will be announced—stay tuned for more details.
