With the continued concerns over COVID-19, including travel restrictions and social distancing orders, Southern Draw Cigars today announced they will be cancelling participation of in-person events for the remainder of 2020, noting “it is not possible to effectively plan travel and event schedules with the rapid changes happening across the country.”
Right now, the most important thing all of us can do is focus our attention on helping each other with the new challenges we all face. For our family, this includes adopting new methods of delivering quality handmade cigars at a fair price while increasing awareness and providing quantifiable contributions to our select charities.
Southern Draw notes that the missed sales opportunities (including new product launches) and non-refundable costs of travel have impacted their revenues, enough so that they have been forced to reduce production in Nicaragua. However, cigars are still being made and the company assures their collaborators and those with private-label projects that they are still in a place where these cigars will be delivered in the coming months.
If a vaccination or other breakthrough allows for a safe return to normalcy, Southern Draw is open to returning to “business-as-usual.” Otherwise, the company is open to virtual events and conferences throughout the year. New cigars are still on the horizon, noting “[we] will share several new product launches and some exciting collaborations that we still plan to release in the second half of 2020.”
