Upscale tobacconist chain Casa de Montecristo has announced that the company’s 28 retail locations will be receiving an exclusive blend from Altadis U.S.A.’s limited Grupo de Maestros Private Batch series.

First debuting in 2015 as Montecristo Grupo de Maestros Private Batch, the brand represents some of the highest quality offerings from Altadis and their factories in Honduras and the Dominican Republic. Essentially, Altadis gathers together their top craftsman—a collection of artisans (Grupo de Maestros) with more than 300 years combined experience—to showcase luxurious smoking experiences that would otherwise only be available as private blends for the ‘Maestros’ themselves.

The Casa de Montecristo exclusive Grupo de Maestros Private Batch features a Dominican puro blend (including vintage tobaccos) that has been aged for 10 years. The cigars are rolled in a singular 6⅛” x 52 belicoso format and listed as medium to full in body.

With more than 300 years of combined tobacco experience, the Grupo de Maestros had access to the world’s best tobaccos from fields where experts delicately care for every seedling planted, and master rollers crafted each cigar with the precision of an artist.

The cigars are packaged similarly to other Private Batch releases, where the factory’s cedar-aging shelves are repurposed into large trunk boxes. Currently, the exclusive blend is available at less than 10 Casa de Montecristo locations across the country, with all 28 stores to receive the cigars by April. Pricing is set at $13.50 per cigar.
