Nearly two years after the original release of Imperial Stout Barrel-Aged (ISBA), Camacho is shipping an updated version of the limited edition cigars—now being offered nationwide.

Retailers began receiving shipments of the modernized ISBA in early to mid February, with the cigars now being offered in tweaked banding (updated to include Cigar Dojo graphics) and packaging (10-count plain wood boxes, as opposed to the original paper-bound bundles). Moving from an exclusive retailer to a national release, 2019’s production has been increased by four times the size of the original offering, with 4,000 boxes of 10 cigars available.

Imperial Stout Barrel-Aged was a special project more than a year in the making, where Camacho and Cigar Dojo collaborated to take advantage of Cigar Dojo’s Colorado-based proximity to the notorious craft beer mecca. Four used oak barrels were procured from local brewery Oskar Blues, which had been used to age the company’s popular Ten FIDY Imperial Stout for the prior eight to 12 months (going on to become the first wide-scale release of Barrel Aged Ten FIDY). These barrels were then shipped to Camacho’s factory in Honduras, where Camacho’s famed Original Corojo leaves were aged and rotated within the stout-soaked barrels for roughly six months. The barrel-aged leaves were combined with an all-maduro blend (based on Camacho’s popular Triple Maduro cigar), offering a pronounced flavor profile of chocolate, malts, oak, and a bourbon-like buzz through the nostrils.

The original ISBA cigars were sold on June 30th exclusively at Smoke Inn Cigars, with 400 bundles of 10 cigars made available. On September 29th of the same year, an additional 400 bundles were sold—also offered exclusively at Smoke Inn. The 2019 release will be available to all retailers that carry Camacho cigars across the US.

The 2019 release of ISBA has been rolled in the same 6″ x 50 toro size as the cigar’s original release, maintaining the original $10 price point as well.
