In June of this year, just before the industry’s annual IPCPR trade show, Black Works Studio (BLK WKS) announced the company’s Yellow Jacket project, a special release that would only be offered to tobacconist retailers that attended the trade show.
The cigars follow in the footsteps of the company’s Killer Bee collection, where Killer Bee was one of three original blends released by BLK WKS at the tail end of 2015. At IPCPR 2016, the company showcased the cigar’s first followup, Killer Bee Green Hornet, incorporating a candela wrapper into the blend.
With Yellow Jacket, the cigars are rolled in a singular 4.5″ x 46 petit corona vitola and incorporate a Connecticut wrapper and Connecticut/Ecuador Maduro “swirl cap” and closed foot. The cigars are available as first come first served and will ship in limited quantities in the fall of this year.
Since the cigar’s original announcement, the name has been tweaked from Yellow Jacket to Killer Bee Connecticut. The cigars will begin shipping to retailers this week, being offered in a singular petit corona size and selling for a suggested price of $10.
