Shortly before the trade show, Foundation Cigar Co. announced the company’s new offerings for 2018, headlined by The Tabernacle Havana Seed CT No. 142—a followup to the original Tabernacle cigar from 2016. While the new Tabernacle was certainly the focus, Foundation also brought a new lancero size for The Wise Man Maduro—a special project that will be limited to only 500 boxes of 13 cigars (similar to the lancero-sized El Güegüense that was introduced a year after the cigars hit the market).
Foundation also showcased a new booth for 2018, featuring new and vibrant artwork for the company. Prior to the show, it was announced that Foundation had formed a new art collective under the name ATOL Colectivo, consisting of founding members Ernesto Salinas (SAL), Enoc Valenzuela (VALMOR), and Carlos Mairena (CARLO); the group is led by Alex Garcia (Thief Operandi), Foundation’s current art director. The group designed multiple pieces for the trade show—making up the framework for Foundation’s trade show booth—with the artwork available for purchase at the show (all proceeds going directly to the artists).
