Following last week’s announcement that Colibri would add to the company’s Quasar collection with the Quasar Cut, they have now doubled down on the concept with the Quasar Punch.
Quasar Punch continues the pyramid-inspired design from the original Quasar desktop cutter—which debuted at last year’s trade show—now incorporated into a three-part punch cutter. The cutter uses four pyramids stacked on top of each other; when the uppermost pyramid is pulled away from the cutter’s body, three punch cutters slide out from the remaining pyramids. When the action is reversed, the three cutters retract, ejecting the cigar’s plug from the punch blade(s).
Each of the three punch blades are of different diameters (7mm, 9mm, or 12mm), allowing the cutter to be used on cigars up to 60-plus ring gauges. The Quasar Punch will debut in four finishes at next week’s IPCPR trade show in Las Vegas: matte black, metallic silver, metallic charcoal and matte red. The cutters will retail for $59 SRP and are expected to ship in October.
