Following last week’s successful ReviveR release (a collaboration with Cigar Dojo), Aganorsa Leaf has announced the company’s first new product for the 2018 IPCPR trade show, titled Signature Selection.
Signature Selection has been blended by company owners Eduardo Fernández and his son Max Fernández and is designed to reflect the upper tier of the modernized Aganorsa Leaf portfolio. As such, the cigars make use of a Nicaraguan Aganorsa puro blend, focusing on Corojo ’99 and Criollo ’98 seed varietals from the family’s best fields of Jalapa and Estelí. In addition to a Jalapan Rosado Claro Corojo ’99 wrapper, the blend is highlighted by the use of rarely used medio tiempo tobacco in the cigar’s filler; Aganorsa Leaf describes this combination as “enriching the cigar with an intensity of flavors and complexity.”
The cigars are being offered in four sizes that feature unique shapes and designs, such as a 109-style head on the Belicoso and a butterfly cap on the Corona Gorda. Because of the scarcity of the tobaccos used, the cigars are being offered in seasonal batches, with 500 boxes of 25 cigars per size being offered for 2018.
