In a surprising move, Davidoff has announced the departure ofย Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard as CEO andย Andreas Schmid, a member of theย Board of Directors of Oettinger Davidoff AG. Replacing the two men will beย Beat Hauenstein as CEO andย Domenico Scala as the new chairman of the board.

Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard had operated asย Oettinger Davidoff CEO for seven years, building the Davidoff brand under one of the company’s most successful periods that saw the highly-popular introduction of Davidoff’s Discovery Series (Black Label), a revived Winston Churchill brand, wide expansion of Davidoff’s ultra-premium lounges, and the successful re-branding of Camacho Cigars (owned by Davidoff).ย Likewise, Andreas Schmid had been on the board for ten years, citing his desire to “concentrate on his other roles at various globally active firms and on his own business activities.”

Domenico Scala, nominated as the new chairman, has acted as CFO, CEO, and chairman for other notable companies, including a recent departure of the independent Audit & Compliance Committee of FIFA.ย Beat Hauenstein, taking over as CEO, was the former COO of the group.
