Prepping for the holiday season, Quesada continues its series of keg-themed cigars, introducing the Quesada Holiday Keg. The cigars are slated to hit retail shelves mid-November—however, some retailers have now begun receiving shipments.
In 2015, Quesada introduced the Quesada Keg, a limited-run project aimed for Saint Patrick’s Day and the commonly associated Irish stout beers. The cigars were then tweaked for a 2016 release, adding additional sizes and altering the look to more closely resemble a Guinness Extra Stout label.
But the Quesada Holiday Keg is an entirely different project. The cigars are being rolled at Quesada’s own factory in the Dominican Republic, as opposed to Nicaraguan-based Plasencia Cigars (used for the Quesada Keg cigars). The blend itself follows suit, using primarily Dominican leaf, where the Quesada Keg blend is primarily Nicaraguan.
The cigars are aimed at gift-giving and are not blended to pair with a specific beer style, as with Quesada’s Keg and Oktoberfest cigars. Although, Quesada describes the flavors as having “Hints of dried fruit and leather on the finish,” which falls in line with the typical spiced and dried fruit beers and desserts of the season.
