Drew Estate hinted at the introduction of a new cigar to involve Florida-grown tobacco earlier this month, coinciding with their new Florida edition of the Drew Estate Barn Smoker events.

Details on the cigar have now emerged, as DE sent out a press release showcasing the new cigar today. The cigars are titled “Florida Sun Grown”, or “FSG”, utilizing unique Florida Sun-Grown tobaccos in the cigar’s filler. The cigars are a joint effort with Jeff Borysiewicz, owner of Corona Cigar Co. Jeff is also responsible for growing the new tobacco, originating from a farm outside Orlando.

This has been one of the most difficult challenges of my life. Tobacco growing is just as much an art as it is a science, and growing tobacco in this area of Florida was totally uncharted territory.

The cigars have once again been blended by Willy Herrera, Master Blender at Drew Estate. And while the blend utilizes a Brazilian wrapper over Honduran binder and Nicaraguan and FSG filler, there will also be a limited edition version with a completely unique blend, also incorporating FSG in the filler.
