With only a few years under his belt, Nomad Cigar Co. owner Fred “GodFadr” Rewey has made a name for himself by bringing flavorful, well-constructed cigars to the market on a consistent basis. This, combined with Fred’s especially active social presence (seriously, you need to follow GodFadr!), has turned this unheard of brand into one that cigar smokers welcome with open arms.
Nomad has kept busy this year, releasing both the Nomad Estelí Lot 8613 and Nomad Therapy (including 3 wrapper variants). Both are being produced at the highly-esteemed Tabacalera Fernandez factory, operated by Master Blender AJ Fernandez in Estelí, Nicaragua.
This week’s contest theme is: What you do when the spouse is away
As we mentioned, Fred is quite active on social media, and for this contest we thought we’d steal one of his recent hashtags. Fred’s wife was out of town and he decided to show the crazy shenanigans that go down when he had the castle to himself, tagged with #IamMyOwnBoss
And that’s exactly what we want to see from you this week Dojo! Not to say you have to kick your spouse out of the house… but you get the idea.
Some examples of an entry may be:
- Have ice cream and cigars for dinner
- Build an awesome man-fort (or lady-fort, of course)
- Smoke a cigar in the house!

Our 1st place winner this week will receive a full box of 21 Nomad Estelí Lot 8613 cigars in 6×50 Toro size! These Nicaraguan boutiques were hand-crafted at the famed Tabacalera Fernandez facory and receive their unique name from the factory’s location (Lot 1386 represents the latitude & longitude of Estelí, which has been reversed for the cigar’s name). These rich Nicaraguans consist of an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan fillers. The tobaccos have been married together for over a year, making for a delicious complexity and unique sweetness.
