There were a ton of great entries this week, and whether you’re happy with the outcome of the big game, or not… at least the Dojo entries provided some good, old fashioned entertainment! Our winners of the #DojoSuperBowl contest were Chris F (1st prize), MetalBryan (2nd prize), and SpudBone (2nd prize). The winner of the Super Bowl prediction contest was Donald S – guessing the winning team, correct score, and only missing the (tie breaker) total net yards passing (both teams) by 8 yards.
The original La Sirena cigar saw its release in 2009 – blended to meet the needs of the modern cigar smoker. With a very successful introduction, the brand slowly began expanding its portfolio, releasing the Merlion, resurrecting a brand called Old School Cigars, and in 2014 releasing the new Oceano – a strong blend made at the Quesada factory.
2014 was a huge year for La Sirena, as the brand separated from distributor Miami Cigar & Co., released the exciting new Oceano blend, and even switched factories for their core line cigar – La Sirena. The cigar was originally created at the My Father Cigars factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, but is now being produced at the new, up-and-coming La Zona factory – owned and operated by Erik Espinosa. The new La Sirena cigars are said to have retained a similar blend makeup, with very slight alterations that have already been praised as being better than the original!

How could we not have a giveaway on the biggest party day of the year?! For this week’s contest, we’re extending Super Bowl Sunday out by a couple days, and we want to see your football/tailgate/cigar parties all weekend…

This week’s winner will receive a full box of the newly-blended La Sirena in the 5.5″ x 42 Sea Sprite vitola! This is a newer box of La Sirena, showcasing the skill of the La Zona factory, creators of some of the best boutique cigars made today. This (slightly) tweaked blend focuses on a more balanced approach – making for a smooth and enjoyable experience throughout. This is also one of our favorite sizes in the lineup – with the smaller 42 ring gauge, the cigars really let the Nicaraguan Habano Oscuro wrapper shine.
La Sirena 5-pack sampler
There will be three 2nd place winners this week, all receiving a La Sirena sampler pack! In each pack, you will find the full La Sirena experience, with the core La Sirena cigar, milk-chocolatey Merlion, the new Oceano, and both Old Scool Jaxx cigars – Connecticut and Habano Oscuro. La Sirena packs also include a La Sirena cutter and matches.
Our 3 winners of the La Sirena 5-packs will be chosen throughout the week. We may have “flash contests” at any given time throughout the contest to award a 5-pack. One of the 5-packs will be awarded to the winner of our Big Game contest, in where we will give a prize to the closest-guessed score of the Super Bowl.
NOTE: This week’s winners will be picked by the Cigar Dojo staff. We will be judging the entries on artistic quality (best images), creativity, and originality. Entries and extra credit will add to your chances, giving you a better shot at being picked.
2nd place 5-pack prizes will be awarded throughout the contest during “Flash Giveaways”, we will also reserve one of the three 5-packs for the winner of our Big Game contest, which will be awarded to the user that guesses the score of the Super Bowl game correctly (or the closest guess).
