UPDATE: This contest is now over. While this was a challenging theme for a contest we did receive lots of great entries. After 8 finalists were picked the Dojo community voted and the grand prize winner was Maxxrocket. ArmyRN and Grasshoppa won the runner-up prizes as picked by Robert Arango from Arandoza Cigars.
Fresh off the heels of another amazing celebration of our nation’s independence, and one of the biggest giveaways on Cigar Dojo to date, we’re back with – you guessed it – more free cigars!
This week’s prizes are brought to you by Cigar Dojo partner (and good friends) Arandoza Cigars. In case you’re unfamiliar, Arandoza is a boutique cigar brand manufactured at the La Zona factory, owned and operated by Erik Espinosa. Concentrating on bold, medium-full-bodied cigars, Arandoza’s lineup consists of the (original) Arandoza Blue, the sophomore release – Arandoza White, and this year’s Arandoza Red, which will be the brand’s strongest blend to date (more on this to come).
This week’s contest theme is: Cigar “action shots”
For this week’s contest, we’ve decided to think outside the box a little, and we’re hoping you will too! Sure, we could always throw in a “longest ash” or “biggest smoke ring” contest, but we’ve done that before, and what can we say, we like to keep things fresh.
For this week’s contest, we want to see your “action shots”, i.e. make your photos come to life with some implied action!
Some examples of a contest entry may be:
- Go for a jog with your favorite cigar
- Smoke on a trampoline
- Jump rope while smoking a cigar
- Throw your cigar like a football
- Juggle your cigars
Whatever you do, make it fun and original!

Make an “action-styled post” or a picture that suggests “motion” (include cigars in some way) on the Cigar Dojo app and make sure to include the hashtag #entry.
Note: Contest entries should be new, i.e. created for this contest. Any mention of Cigar Dojo in your entry pictures is encouraged – i.e. Cigar Dojo cards, drawings, computer screens, etc…
Be creative! We love to see interesting cigar pictures, use a cool camera effect, angle, filters, lenses, and lighting! Anything to make your image stand out.

This week’s contest will run from Wednesday, July 9th at 3PM (MDT) and will end Friday, July 11th at 6PM (MDT). The winners will be announced on Friday night during this week’s episode of Smoke Night Live.

Our first place winner this week will receive a full box of Arandoza Blue cigars! Created at the esteemed La Zona factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, a factory known for its hard-hitting habano cigars, the Arandoza Blue is a perfect representation of just that. Habano-wrapped and medium in body, this cigar focuses more on flavor rather than pure strength. Reviewed on Cigar Dojo, we found the Arandoza Blue to showcase a pecan and woodsy flavor profile and was perfect for a long and satisfying retrohale experience. Arandoza Sampler PackSecond place is nothing to scoff about, that is, when you’re second place in a Cigar Dojo contest! Two second place winners will receive a heapin’ helpin’ of Arandoza cigars. The prizes include two 3-pack samplers (5″ x 52 robusto, 6″ x 52 toro, and 7 1/4″ x 49 double corona) of Arandoza White cigars, along with 2 Arandoza Blue toro cigars (for good measure). Both winners will receive 8 cigars in total.
NOTE: This weeks winners will be picked by the Cigar Dojo staff. We will be judging the images on artistic quality and best overall image that fits in this weeks theme. Entries and extra credit will add to your chances, giving you a better shot at being picked.
