I was lucky enough to attend this years “The Great Smoke” in West Palm Beach Florida which is presented by Smoke Inn. This event lives up to the hype and I’m here to tell you that if you are a cigar fanatic like I am you will want to make the trip there every single year. The Great Smoke is a two-day event if you count the Friday night VIP dinner which this year featured a pre-release (sampler and preview) of the “Big Delicious” a Room 101 and Smoke Inn exclusive cigar.
I sampled the cigar and it is a fantastic addition to the Smoke Inn Microblend Series (the Big Delicious will be released this spring). On Saturday the main event starts and The Great Smoke has something for everyone: great food, entertainment, prizes, free drinks, and of course tons of free cigars. The nice thing about the Great Smoke compared to some other cigar events I have attended is that the Great Smoke features the best of the best in cigars. You don’t get handed some lame off-shoot brand cigar you have never heard of which gets tossed to the bottom of your humidor, no at The Great Smoke you get cigars from Drew Estate, Padron, Arturo Fuente, Espinosa Cigars, Room 101, Camacho, Ortega Cigars, just to name a few! Each patron of The Great Smoke is handed 40 premium smokes along with tons of other freebies (literally our gift humidor bags were overflowing with freebies and cigars, it was great!). All the industry giants are in attendance as well, you get to meet folks such as Rocky Patel, Jonathan Drew, Matt Booth, Erik Espinosa, Eddie Oretga, Ernesto Padilla, and many, many others. The Great Smoke runs from about noon until 5PM and there is a fun after party that fires up right next to Smoke Inn at The Bull sports bar. All in all The Great Smoke was a killer event and I plan to be there every year from here on out.
