AJ Fernandez is really making a name for himself in the cigar business these days with home runs such as the San Lotano Oval and other great cigars like the Diesel and today I will be reviewing the Man O’ War Ruination Belicoso. Normally when you hear the two words “ruin” and “nation” together in the same sentence you might assume it’s another rant about Barrack Obama but nothing could be further from that topic than this delicious and juicy cigar. First things first, this is a beefy cigar weighing in at 5.75×56! It feels like a substantive cigar when you hold it in your hand. Upon cutting and taking your pre-light draw you will notice a slightly tight be not undesirable draw.
After lighting you are hit with a nice array of juicy flavors. I found notes of coffee, leather, and a sweet toasty spice that I enjoyed a great deal. The Man O’ War Ruination Belicoso doesn’t fail as the burn was spectacular and the flavor was enjoyable all the way to the nub. I have a feeling that Fuente fans will like this cigar because it does have some similar flavors to what you might expect coming out of a good Fuente cigar.
I found these cigars online on sale for less than $4 per stick but they will normally run around $7, I would say these are a good deal even when they are not on sale. These full flavored, premium cigars are a great addition to the humidor and I’m glad I still have a few aging because I’m sure they will get even better after a bit of time.
