After several years focused on international growth, Duran Cigars is officially returning to the U.S. market. The company has established new headquarters and a distribution center in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, marking a significant next step for the family-run brand.

Founded in 2013 by industry veteran Roberto Pelayo Duran, the company first made waves at the IPCPR Trade Show with blends rooted in Cuban heritage and modern craftsmanship. While Duran initially built momentum stateside, he later shifted focus toward expanding operations abroad—developing a 100-hectare farm in Quevedo, Ecuador, enlarging the company’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, and growing distribution throughout Europe and Asia.

“Concentrating on our farm and global markets allowed us to perfect our production and strengthen our foundation,” said Duran. “Now, with my son joining the business, we have the right team and structure in place to reestablish our presence in the United States while continuing to grow internationally.”

The company’s new U.S. headquarters, located at 3141 SW 8th Street, doubles as a retail cigar shop and lounge, serving as both a cultural hub and logistical base for distribution.

Joining his father is Roberto Pelayo Duran Jr., who will oversee marketing and sales. A graduate of the University of British Columbia and the University of Notre Dame, Duran Jr. brings business experience and a hands-on understanding of production gained from time spent working on the factory floor in Nicaragua and the family’s farm in Ecuador.

“Working alongside my father has shown me how passion and precision come together to create something lasting,” said Duran Jr. “With our vertically integrated structure and our new Miami headquarters, we’re ready to share Duran Cigars with U.S. retailers and enthusiasts once again.”

With its return to Miami and the addition of the next generation, Duran Cigars enters a new chapter rooted in family legacy and international growth.
