Joya de Nicaragua announced that beginning January 1, 2026, the company will manage its own distribution in the United States through a newly established entity. The move concludes a 17-year arrangement in which Drew Estate oversaw U.S. sales and distribution of Joya’s cigars.
In its statement, Joya de Nicaragua described the change as an important step toward closer ties with consumers while acknowledging the role Drew Estate has played in its growth.
“This transition is not the end of a relationship; it is the natural evolution of one,” said Dr. Alejandro Martínez Cuenca, Chairman of Joya de Nicaragua. “We are standing on the shoulders of a friendship that has helped shape who we are today. This evolution is not about a change in philosophy—it’s about taking ownership of the path ahead. It reflects the brand’s belief that excellence is not a destination, but a journey—one shared with those who appreciate authenticity, seek meaningful experiences, and value the finer things in life without the need for extravagance. I thank Jonathan, Glenn and the whole DE team for being part of our story.”
Drew Estate’s founder and president Jonathan Drew also reflected on the long-standing ties between the two companies.

For now, retailers and partners will continue to source Joya de Nicaragua cigars through Drew Estate until the transition takes effect at the start of 2026.
