Tobacco Tactical Cigar Co. has revealed its latest project, the Essence Series Honduras Tobac Exclusive, set to launch in April 2025. This collaboration brings together E.P. Carrillo and Plasencia Cigars to craft a cigar in a 5½ x 52 vitola, focusing on Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos. The release marks the second joint effort between Tobacco Tactical and E.P. Carrillo, following their V series, and now includes Nestor Plasencia in the mix.
The cigar features a Honduran wrapper and binder, with a filler blend of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos, creating a medium-bodied smoke. Notes of roasted coffee beans, dark chocolate, and nutmeg are present in the profile, shaped by Plasencia’s involvement. Alexander Berezowski of Tobacco Tactical said, “Not many get to play ball with Hall of Famers… we got called up to play with two at the same time.” Michael Medrano added, “After working with The Godfather of Cigars in 2023, we knew we had to push the envelope for our next project. Bringing Nestor into the mix was an unexpected blessing and the perfect way to elevate this collaboration.”
Lissette Perez Carrillo of E.P. Carrillo noted, “This project was all about finding the perfect balance. The synergy between our team and Plasencia allowed us to refine a blend that speaks to the roots of Honduran tobacco while maintaining the signature complexity our cigars are known for.” Wayne Stoner, National Sales Director for EPC/Casa Carrillo, shared, “The development process involved countless hours working on multiple blends throughout 2024, ensuring the product met Tobacco Tactical’s high standards. We were excited to continue developing something we’d been working on for quite some time.”
The Essence Series Honduras Tobac Exclusive will debut on Tobacco Tactical’s platform, with some stock reserved for select retailers. Additional distribution details are expected later in 2025.
