Gurkha Cigar Group Inc has announced the return of its Colección Especial, a cigar that had been unavailable since February 2024 due to limited supplies of its hybrid Ecuadorian wrapper. The company resumed production after securing the necessary materials, making the cigar available once again to enthusiasts.
Jim Colucci, President and CEO of Gurkha Cigar Group, said, “We’re proud to re-introduce the Colección Especial to circulation.” He added, “This cigar is better than ever and we can’t wait for everyone to try it again.”
The Colección Especial is offered in its signature white 10-count boxes and comes in three sizes: Robusto (5×52), Toro (6×54), and Lonsdale (6 1/4 x 48). Pricing ranges from $12.95 to $14.95 per cigar. Production has been overseen by Jochy Blanco at Tabacalera La Palma in the Dominican Republic.
Juan Lopez, VP of Sales at Gurkha, commented on the delay: “After a year of waiting for the wrapper to be ready, we are finally able to share the Colección Especial with everyone again.” He continued, “I’m incredibly excited for everyone to try it again for the first time.”
The cigar is now shipping to retailers. Gurkha Cigar Group, a company recognized globally for its handmade cigars, produces millions of cigars annually, distributed across more than 85 countries. The re-release of Colección Especial marks the return of a notable offering in their diverse portfolio.
