After introducing the HVC 500 Years Anniversary as a limited release in 2019 (and subsequently winning Cigar Dojo’s No.1 Limited Edition Cigar of the Year), the company is now expanding the brand as a regular-production release.

One year after the release, HVC announced two new sizes for 2020—Shorts and Selectos—which would continue the limited nature of the brand. Moving forward, the 500 Years cigars will be regular production, being offered in the original Tesoros size (5⅞″ × 52) and the 2020 addition of the Selectos (5⅝” x 46). Additionally, the company has hinted at the possibility for added sizes in the future.
HVC 500 Years Anniversary is made in commemoration of Havana City’s 500th anniversary, birthplace of company owner, Reinier Lorenzo. The cigars are rolled at the Aganorsa Leaf (aka TABSA) factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, making use of a Jalapa-grown Nicaraguan Corojo ’99 wrapper, Jalapa binder, and all-Nicaraguan fillers of Corojo ’99 and Criollo ’98 tobaccos.
The cigars will be showcased at the upcoming TPE trade show in Las Vegas (May 12–14, 2021), priced between $10.50 (Selectos) and $11.60 (Tesoros) MSRP.
