White Hat Cigars Hires Todd Vance and Erica Arroyo

White Hat Cigars has made two new key hires, bringing on former Cornelius & Anthony members, Todd Vance and Erica Arroyo.

Todd Vance, former Director of Sales for Cornelius & Anthony (and National Sales Manager for AJ Fernandez, prior), has been hired as the company’s Vice President of Sales. Erica Arroyo, former Social Media Director at Cornelius & Anthony, will join White Hat as Director of Marketing and Social Media.

The announcement comes roughly 10 days after Cornelius & Anthony Premium Cigars let go of a significant portion of the company’s staff, including senior members Todd Vance and Courtney Smith (director of business development), as well as Erica Arroyo and a large number of sales positions. There are multiple connections between White Hat Cigars and the new hires, with company owner Spence Drake formerly working with both Todd and Erica at Cornelius & Anthony (national sales director); in addition, Drake formerly worked with Todd Vance at AJF Cigar Co.

White Hat Cigars is a Texas-based company that consists of Spence Drake, Hirochi Robaina, Omar Gonzalez, and Luis Omar Gonzalez. Showcasing Robaina’s world-renowned blending talents (Hirochi is the grandson of the “Godfather of Tobacco,” Don Alejandro Robaina), the company carries a full portfolio of Robaina’s HR series (HR Signature, HR Blue, HR Claro), with plans for additional brands moving forward. The cigars are rolled at the Gonzalez’s La Corona factory in Estelí.
