Drew Estate has announced that the company has brought back the Chateau Real line, making the cigars available through Drew Diplomat-authorized online retailers exclusively.
The Drew Estate Chateau Real cigar debuted in 2006, being one of the company’s first attempts at branching out from the infused market and into the more traditional premium cigar space. This was only a short while before such hits as Liga Privada, Herrera Esteli, and Undercrown, with the company describing the cigar as “a big first step.”
“Chateau, along with all of its secrets has since become one of the most sought-after “Drew Estate Ghosts,” with collectors keeping the brand and its folklore alive. We simply had to resurrect this prince of a brand” exclaims Jonathan Drew, Founder and President of Drew Estate. “I’m absolutely thrilled that we are bringing affordable brands to market … good shit that everyone can afford and feel intelligent purchasing.”
The Chateau Real now returns in a similar blend to the original, boasting a Connecticut Shade wrapper and all-Nicaraguan binder/filler. One key differentiator is that the cigars are now rolled at the company’s prized La Gran Fabrica Drew Estate factory in Estelí, Nicaragua, as the original debuted shortly before the factory was constructed. The cigars are geared for a mellow smoking intensity and attractive price points. There will be three sizes at launch: Robusto (5″ x 50 | $6.50), Toro (6″ x 50 | $6.75), Churchill (7″ x 50 | $7.00), each being packaged in boxes of 20 cigars.
