4,000 Cigars in Dojoverse App

There are now over 4,000 cigars available to check into on Cigar Dojo’s Dojoverse app.

While the Dojo app first launched in fall 2012 (we are currently celebrating our 10th anniversary), the app was overhauled in late-summer 2020 (now known as Dojoverse). There were countless updates to the platform, with one of the most notable being the ability to check into cigars.

This allowed users to earn unique badges associated with their smoking habits. Smoke a lot of Nicaraguan cigars? You’ll earn the Nica Ninja badge. Are you into Aganorsa Leaf? You can level your way up the ranks with the Aganorsa Acolyte badge. There are hundreds such badges throughout the app, which are earned through engagement, smoking habits, and more.

In 2022, we’ve enhanced our leaderboard functionality to include cigars and brands (formerly listing only app users), meaning the current collection of 4,000 cigars and 360 associated brands/companies are ranked by daily, weekly, monthly, and all-time checkins. Not only this, but users now get their own personalized leaderboard, where they can view their own curated list of cigars and brands they’ve smoked on the app over time.

Needless to say, this is quite a bit of data to sort through, with each cigar being attached to attributes such as brand, price, wrapper, wrapper shade, country of origin, factory, body, and production status (gotta love them unicorns!). Yes, cigars were added at a faster pace when the app launched (as there were simply more to choose from), hitting the 1,000 mark in Oct. 2020, the 2,000 mark in Dec. 2020, and the 3,000 mark in Sep. 2021. But cigars and brands continue to be added on a daily basis, and recommendations are welcome (simply message or tag us on the Dojoverse app).
