Diesel is set to bring one trilogy to a close while opening up another, as the company has announced the Fool’s Errand trilogy to replace the Elixir trilogy.

The project will blend “storytelling, interactivity, and cigar mastery,” with Diesel releasing one limited-edition cigar each year over the next two years.

Justin Andrews, who oversees Scandinavian Tobacco Group’s (STG) cigar collaborations and the Diesel brand says, “AJ Fernandez and I recently completed the Elixir trilogy and in that time, Diesel fans grew accustomed to our cool approach to limited edition cigars. We’re keeping the tradition alive with ‘Fool’s Errand.’ It’s our next three-year series, and we’ll launch it annually to kick off spring. With Fool’s Errand, we’re taking it to the next level by adding an interactive game to the mix. As far as the blends for Fool’s Errand go, we definitely won’t disappoint.”

Diesel Fool’s Errand Stubborn Fool cigar

The first cigar in the series is the Diesel Fool’s Errand Stubborn Fool, crafting a 5″ x 58 figurado out of A.J. Fernández’s factory in Estelí, Nicaragua. The cigar is described as full in body, using a diverse recipe that includes a Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper, Jamastran (Honduras) binder, and fillers of Honduras and Nicaragua.

Stubborn Fool ships with a limited tarot card within the packaging, joined by a QR code that launches an interactive game, where purchasers will be tasked with solving a series of riddles. Prizes will then be awarded to the 10 participants with the best results. This concept will continue over the next two years, swapping the Stubborn Fool character to match future releases.

The cigars will ship April 1st, arriving in 10-count boxes that retail for $99.90 ($9.99/cigar).

Justin Andrews hints, “The opposite of a fool is someone who’s wise, so if a wise person were to buy a box of Stubborn Fool smokes, they would put the tarot card in a safe place for the future…”
