IPCPR 2016

The 84th annual International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers Association (IPCPR) trade show is now in the books, running from July 24 – 28, 2016, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

IPCPR describes themselves as “The oldest, largest and most active trade association representing and assisting retail tobacconists.” For manufacturers, it’s a chance to introduce new products. For retailers, it’s great face time, a wealth of knowledge (seminars, etc.), and a chance to make bulk purchases for the following year—taking advantage of new cigar releases and special trade show pricing. But for consumers, it’s all about one objective—new cigars.

Of course, the irony is that this, the biggest event in the cigar industry, is also one of the only events consumers are barred from attending. The loophole is that cigar media members may attend—offering a sneak peek at what’s in store for consumers throughout the year.
