90 miles is the distance between Cuba and Florida. Arnaldo Gonzalez, founder of FDG Cigars, fled his home in Cuba in 1980, escaping the oppressive, communist regime. In 1993 he established Flor de Gonzalez Cigars, eventually creating the 90 Miles brand in honor of our great country.

This week’s contest theme is: Ugly Christmas socks ‘n’ sweaters

Typically, we like to keep the contest theme closely related to our featured brand, but considering the weighty significance of the 90 Miles inspiration, combined with the cheerful season, we’re going to have a little fun!

Get out your ugly Christmas sweaters and socks and show the Dojo what you’re made of! This week, post pictures involving ugly, zaney, or otherwise out-of-touch Christmas attire – you know, the one you’ve been hiding for the last 35 years… post it on the Dojo this week for a chance to win free cigars.

Entering the contest is as simple as:

Take a photo involving ugly Christmas socks and/or sweaters (cigars are also encouraged in photos)
Post your photo to the Cigar Dojo app
Include hashtag #ChristmasSweater

Our contest this week will run from Wednesday, December 10th at 6pm (MST) until Friday, December 12th at 6pm (MST). The winners will be announced on Friday night or Saturday morning.

Our 1st place winner this week will receive a full box of 90 Miles cigars by Flor de Gonzalez in a 6.5″ x 52 Torpedo vitola! These Nicaraguan puros pack a surprising blast of full-mouth flavor. We call this 3rd place, but really, the winner of this prize is going to be feeling more like 1st. Sure, there are only 4 cigars (6.5″ x 54 Torpedo), but these tasty morsels feature some seriously choice tobaccos – a special edition blend of the original 90 Miles. 1980 Edition features a Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Ecuadorian binder, and Nicaraguan/Dominican fillers. Expect a sweet, dessert-like smoking experience, loaded with flavors of chocolate, cinnamon, espresso, and cream.
