The 2014 Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival is now behind us, and it’s safe to say that cigar fanatics across the country got their fill of some of the best cigars the industry has to offer. The event was a huge success, with thousands of consumers in attendance, and multitudes of the industry’s top manufacturers, craft breweries, distilleries, accessory manufacturers and more. It really is impressive to see the growth this event has witnessed in only a few years, since its inception in 2010.

With a growing list of vendors, attendees were treated to a goodie bag filled with 40 premium cigars (plus many more for VIP tickets), Xikar butane, Jet Line triple torch lighter, cigar cutter, Oliva taster glass, and plenty of food and drinks from craft breweries and distilleries such as Oskar Blues, AC Golden, Boulder Beer, Breckenridge Distillery, and many more.

Highlights of the show included

  • Cigar goodie bags
  • Show-special prices
  • Appearances from cigar celebrities such as Jonathan Drew, Pete Johnson, Matt Booth, Willy Herrera, Dion Giolito, Christian Eiroa, Rocky Patel, Janny Garcia, and Dean Parsons, among others
  • Live music
  • Drink and food tickets
  • Luxury vehicle show
  • Billiards (play with the pros)

With the improved venue (Omni Interlocken Resort) and added list of cigar manufacturers, this year’s event was a dramatic improvement on years prior. It looks as though the Rocky Mountain Cigar Festival is here to stay – now competing with some of the top cigar events in the country. And why shouldn’t it? Colorado is a very central location, drawing consumers from every direction, hosting attendees to the beautiful landscape, as well as some of the top craft breweries in the country.

I gotta agree that this event keeps getting bigger and better in some aspects every year. The change in venue was nice due to not being elbow to elbow with every patron (unless near the Drew Estate booth) since it was more spread out. I also can’t complain about what was included with the general admission, 40 cigars and a decent lighter!!! The food was good and didn’t seem to run out like in some previous years and the band kept me nodding my head. Of course nothing is perfect and my only complaints would be lack of seating if you weren’t VIP and the way the booths were set up. On previous years it was easy to mingle with the VIP guests and have a nice personal chat with them for five minutes plus and get a couple pics with them. This year, it seemed like a lot of them kind of hid in the back behind their reps socializing with each other or playing on their smartphones instead of being up front and personal. I felt like I had to bother them or annoy them just to say hi. To end on a positive note, everybody brought product this year to sell!

I was wondering if they had any Liga Privada Unico’s for sale at the Drew Estate booth? It looked like everyone was having a great time! Thanks.
